Locally Owned Flooring Store in Tampa

Jim Nesbitt opened Hanover Carpet One Floor & Home in 1994 and is a third generation flooring expert. His father and grandfather owned stores in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim was taught at a young age by his grandfather that attention to detail and superior quality workmanship are key to success. Jim’s father’s flooring store started in residential flooring and then moved to the commercial market. Jim worked in his father’s store and gained valuable experience in the running of a flooring company. Through watching and working with both his grandfather and father, it was a natural fit for Jim to open his own flooring company. Today, Jim is also a licensed building contractor and has grown his flooring business to include full Kitchen and Bath remodels.

Hanover Carpet One Floor & Home is named after the township in Pennsylvania where Jim grew up. The team at Hanover is made up of professionals from diverse backgrounds, including commercial flooring, customer relations, and interior design. Over the years, Hanover has expanded, moving from its original location on Gunn Highway in Odessa to its current, spacious showroom built in 2012. The additional space has allowed the store to greatly expand its kitchen and bath offerings, as well as flooring options.

Hanover is currently run by Jim and his wife, Beth. Beth was actually a customer at the store when she met, and later married, Jim! Several other current staff members were customers before joining our team, speaking to our friendly, neighborhood atmosphere. Jim and Beth’s niece and nephew have also worked at the store since high school, carrying on the family’s generational legacy in the flooring industry. Our mission statement at Hanover Carpet One is "Do what you promise, when you promise.”

Our Community Involvement

As a business that is based right here at home, we take pride in serving and supporting our community. We have donated flooring and labor to help build several houses for severely wounded veterans through the Tunnels to Towers and Operation Finally Home organizations. We’ve also donated flooring for the Sickles High School locker rooms, along with "reading rugs" and carpet squares for Westchase Elementary. Additionally, we’ve sponsored various youth sports teams in the Westchase, Land O Lakes, and Town & Country areas. Hanover is also proud to have served as a donation drop-off point for Toys for Tots.
